Student Organizations and Competition Teams

Students apply their knowledge and skills by participating in student organizations and teams. The real-world experience students receive gives them the leadership, teamwork, and technical skills that are sought after by employers.

Electronics Design Club

The Electronics Design Club (E-Club) focuses on the development and application of the real word electronic and computer development. E-Club is open for all K-State students and faculty. The only requirement is the desire for knowledge. E-Club allows its members, who are working on projects, to ask questions and get help from the community. This open sharing of knowledge allows members to accomplish tasks they would not have before. Projects are entirely member driven with support from other members and faculty.

Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society

The Student Chapter of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) at Kansas State University is a registered student organization that focuses on the applications and methods of engineering into medicine, biology and other disciplines. It leads students to recognize the dynamic field of bio-engineering and provides means of student participation with senior design projects and outreach faculty committees. Throughout these efforts not only do the students' involvement with professors increase, but the involvement of graduate students along with world-recognized educators enhances with each project.

Eta Kappa Nu

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is an international electrical and computer engineering honor society with chapters at approximately 200 locations in the United States, Europe and Asia. While one goal of the society is the stimulation and reward of scholarship, Eta Kappa Nu has a far broader purpose than merely to award a badge of distinction to scholars. Eta Kappa Nu and its members are dedicated to helping fellow members and non-members alike, improve the standards of the profession, the courses of instruction, and the institution in general, where its chapters are established.

K-State Robotics Competition Team

The K-State Robotics Competition Team (Wildcat Robotics) started as a group of students interested in Battlebots. That show is now off the air, and the grass roots organization that started it has come back to life. The idea behind Wildcat Robotics is to provide a venue for creative, inventive and industrious students to participate in robotic competitions against other universities or teams. Currently few university teams exist, but we are hoping that will change. Currently, we compete at robotic combat competitions held across the nation.

Prosthetic Design Team

The Prosthetic Design Team brings together engineering students of all specialties to develop new and innovative prosthetic devices to provide better care and daily operations for those in need of such devices.

Solar Club

The Solar Club provides an education on solar energy and technology for students through solar design projects.

Wildcat Wind Power Team

Wildcat Wind Power is a competition design team that competes bi-annually at the Collegiate Wind Competition hosted by the United States Department of Energy. This competition coincides with the American Wind Energy Association's annual conference.

Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering (WECE)

The purpose of the Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering is to be a support system, designed to increase each member's understanding of engineering and to enhance their professionalism.

Other Opportunities

There are many other student organizations and leadership opportunities available to students. All organizations at K-State can be found on OrgCentral.
