Beginning Fall 2026, CIS 208 - C Programming for Engineers replaces CIS 209 as the course that fulfills this curriculum requirement.

Technical elective requirements can also be found on your DARS report. Courses fulfilling named degree requirements cannot fill technical electives requirements.

Technical Electives List - K-State 8 Curriculum

Technical Electives must be chosen to satisfy degree requirements. Courses fulfilling named degree requirements cannot fill technical electives requirements. Biomedical and Electrical Engineering students are required to complete technical electives from one of their respective emphasis areas.

If CE 333 and ME 512 are both taken, credit will be given for CE 530 along with 3 hours of technical elective credit. Taking CE 333 or ME 512 alone will not count for CE 530 credit.

If CIS 200 and 308 are both taken, credit will be given for CIS209 and 2 hours of technical electives in Electrical Engineering. Taking CIS200 or CIS308 alone will not count for CIS209 credit.
